To the star gone too soon

Dear Sushant,

June 14, 2020 1:30 PM — this date and time will forever remain imprinted in my mind because it was the time when I woke up to receive the devastating news of your untimely demise.

And that was the last thing I was expecting. I picked up my phone to check the time, but then what I saw was a notification on my phone saying:

“Famous movie star Sushant Singh Rajput commits suicide.”

I clicked on the notification while still hoping that this news is not true and there might be some mistake. Just to be sure, I even searched your name on Google.

But when I saw your smiling face along with the date of your demise on Wikipedia, the news was confirmed. You were no longer among us.

Death is not new, Sushant. We all will die some day. But I don’t why this loss felt so personal.

May be it was because I had always seen you smiling and positive in life.

May be it was because you were a self-made man who build his career and reputation from the scratch.

or

May it was because you were a dreamer who inspired thousands of dreamers like me that they can achieve big.

To be honest, I am hurt and so are millions of other people who admired you, adored you, and were inspired from you.

And I am still trying to figure out:

Why you took such a drastic step?

Why a man who was positive about life, had big dreams to achieve, and a promising career ahead decided to end his life and commit suicide?

Well, I guess we all will never be able to figure out. All the questions to this answer are gone with you. All we can do is to guess and all we can do is to wonder: What if you were still alive?

And I don’t want to guess anymore. I just want to honour your decision and let you go.

So, goodbye buddy.

But you will always be alive in the form of the characters you played and keep inspiring us. You will always be alive in the form of those 50 dreams you wanted to achieve as they say:

“Dreams never die with the dreamer, instead they pass on to other dreamers. Such is the beauty of them.”

And I hope you are finally in the middle of the galaxies you always wanted to explore. I hope you have finally found peace.

Regards,

A fellow dreamer. 🙂
